All But Blind Analysis
In the poem All But Blind by Walter de la Mare what I was expecting to happen was that there was going to be someone or something that had lots of disabilities but not blind by looking at the title. In the poem there was fifteen lines and four stanzas. In line two it says “Gropes for worms” I think that Mare did a great job with incorporating big words because when he said “Gropes” he was talking about a mole feeling around for worms to eat. Mare also did a great job with getting the reader to imagine the setting and what he was writing about. For example in the first stanza he does a great job by describing the mole and the hole that he sits in.
Mare used at an example of a metaphor where he showed on line nine where it says “In the burning day”. This metaphor shows how it is a bright hot day by saying it’s burning but the day is literally not being burned. In this short poem I am not sure what the whole point is and thats the only place where the poem is confusing. Overall I think that Mare is a great author other than not seeing the main idea in the poem I enjoyed it.
