Describe some of the things that Raoul sees along his journey in “The Journey.”
During Raoul's Journey he saw the same woman many times, and he also saw the woman's face on the mountains.
"For some reason, I looked back the way we have come and there, imbedded in the mountain with her eyes closed, was the face of the girl, thirty feet high! (Pg.8)
How did the journey help Raoul in “The Journey”?
The journey helps him because he goes by himself on a train, and he takes the pain instead of crying.
"There was something in my mouth, it was sharp, it was hurting my mouth, it needed to come out! IT WAS OUT! (Pg. 9)
What was the problem in “The Journey”?
The problem in "The Journey" is that Raoul has tuberculosis and he lives in Mexico and the doctors gave up on healing him so he had to go to Oklahoma for someone to heal him.
"We had very little money, but with what we had and could borrow from Papa's many friends there was just enough for a child's ticket to the little town in Oklahoma where Rosalie lived." (Pg.4)
